Transportation Technologies Shine at Argonne's Open House

On Saturday, August 29, 2009, Argonne National Laboratory hosted 22,000 visitors at an open house, the first since 2006. Many of the guests visited the TTRDC’s Transportation Technologies tent where they could participate in more than 15 interactive exhibits, hands-on demonstrations, and engaging presentations about Argonne’s research into emerging technologies that will help make next-generation vehicles a reality. Argonne to Develop Lithium-Air Battery

Argonne will begin developing world-changing lithium-air (Li-air) batteries that have the capacity to store up to five to 10 times the energy of lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries, or almost as much energy as a tank of gasoline of the same size. (More...)

Argonne, Korea's KATECH Partner on Green Technologies

Argonne’s Transportation Technology R&D Center (TTRDC) now has another international partner in its efforts to take automotive technologies to new heights. On June 16, 2009, Argonne entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH), with the U.S. Department of Energy Secretary and the Korea Ministry of Knowledge Economy Minister in attendance.
