Argonne Hosts Israeli Counsel General, Trade Commissioner

Don Hillebrand, director of Argonne’s Center for Transportation Research, leads a delegation of Israeli VIPs on a tour of the center.

Orli Gill, the counsel general of Israel to the Midwest and her staff, and Noa Asher, Israel’s trade commissioner and economic affairs to the Midwest and her staff, visited Argonne Jan. 14.

Two of the key facilities the delegation toured were the Center for Nanoscale Materials and Argonne’s TTRDC. This visit served as prelude for a subsequent visit by an Argonne delegation to Israel’s leading scientific and technological institutions, including the Weizmann Institute of Science and Technology and The Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.

Several areas for potential collaborations were identified, including accelerated progress in developing lithium-air battery technology, Argonne’s grand research challenge.
