Argonne Hosted Consortium to Address Wide Band Gap Materials for Improved Power Electronics Devices
Argonne researchers Ted Bohn and Ann Schlenker participated in the Wide Band Gap Materials Workshop held at Argonne on September 12, 2012. In attendance were over 100 academic, government lab, and vehicle/supplier OEM participants. The focus of the workshop was to gather collective input on industry needs in the area of improved wide band gap power electronic devices based on GaN and Silicon Carbide materials, with the vision of forming a consortium to pool resources for the mutual benefit of all members of the consortium. Ted Bohn hosted a panel on hybrid vehicle grid integration topics. Another workshop to review the proposed consortium goals and organization rules will be held in two months.
